Making a relationship work is hard enough; starting out with a key element missing heavily stacks the odds against you. Physical attraction indeed opens the door and brings two people together, but personality compatibility, similar lifestyle, and shared values and goals keep them around. Physical attraction is what makes the difference between a friendship and a love affair.

Thank you for reminding us that sometimes the person we want the most is the person we're best without; that the best love is the one that constantly makes you want to be a better person, even though the person we need doesn't necessarily come in a package that we want.
However, don't assume that physical attraction in a significant other will change much for you after marriage. We're attracted to who we're attracted to; which is how men end up with hot crazy women and women end up with hot emotionally unavailable men. If looks are important to you now, then it will likely still be in the future.
